GUN LAW MEMES
Below is a cluster of gun law memes that show a variety of takes on what it means to carry a weapon. Some are for some are not, I will leave that interpretation up to you.
In this meme is a picture of two men both holding signs, the first sign says “Gun sellers are accomplices of crime”. The man on the right is holding a sign that states “Spoons made me fat”. To me it is kind of humorous. It assumes that gun sellers fall under a certain category that promotes the use of guns in violent crime. I like the guys sign that says “Spoons made me fat” because standing next to each other it implies a choice. Picking up a spoon to eat is a choice just like the person behind the weapon is making the choice to use it for violence. Gun sellers are not accomplices they are simply trying to make a living.
“These are the people who enforce “anti-gun” laws. Do they look ant-gun to you?” On the truck it displays the words “Tactical Operations”. This picture shows a group of well-equipped men holding guns, an example of law enforcement that use weapons to protect and serve us. To me it says how can enforce gun laws on civilians yet allow them in the law enforcement. It is almost like a catch twenty two. I am sure that for the men pictured above that there first line of defense is their weapon, yet the law makers are still trying to ban the American public to have our own weapons to protect ourselves.
“IN ONE YEAR, GUNS MURDERED: 15 people in Finland, 35 in Australia, 39 in England and Wales, 60 in Spain, 194 in Germany, 200 in Canada AND 9,484 IN THE UNITED STATES, GOD BLESS AMERICA.” This meme is particularly interesting. For one it states “guns” killed all these peoples; quickly leaving behind the fact that the people behind those guns are the ones who actually committed the crime. Also, the number of deaths in each country, is this because guns are allowed or because they are restricted to civilians?
This meme states: “How Gun Control Works”. Pictured are two men one looking a little rough with the word “crime” underneath pointing a gun at another man that is dressed in a suit with the words underneath him that says “gun control”. The man in the suit is pointing his finger back at the one holding the gun. To me this is saying if you take our weapons we can’t protect ourselves. When crime looks us in the face are we supposed to just sit back and not do anything about it. We have the right to bear arms and protect ourselves. However, today it seems like the only people how have guns are the criminals and the cops.
Bruce Willis standing pointing a gun at what could be a bad guy and the meme says: “If you take the GUNS away from LEGAL GUN OWNERS, then the only people who would HAVE GUNS would be THE BAD GUYS”. This meme also fits well with the last one. Disarming legal gun owners is not the answer to gun control. Instead maybe implementing a system that does more thorough back ground checks. If it was against the law to own guns most “LEGAL” gun owners would hand over their weapons. They wouldn’t like it and most certainly wouldn’t agree with it but the point is that it would still live the “BAD GUYS”. Most “BAD GUYS” can get guns that are not registered and they can get them illegally, so really what good does it do to take them away from law abiding citizens.
